Here is your chance to borrow a bike from Summit Bicycles for your stay with Google! The bike you will be borrowing is a Trek FX1, sizes small - Xlarge. The bike will come equipped with a kickstand and water bottle cage. Additional accessories will be available for purchase at 15% off retail. Bicycle pick up will be at Summit Bicycles Palo Alto exclusively, no home deliveries available:

Breakdown of costs:


  1. Day 1 is a $250 refundable security deposit and an $80 charge for the first month. You will be issued a basic set of lights and cable lock for no additional charge. For an additional $30 you can purchase a Bontrager Solstice helmet.
  2. Day 30 you will be charged $80 automatically with original form of payment.
  3. Day 60 you will be charged $80 automatically with original form of payment.
  4. Day 90, then every 30 days after you will be charged $70 automatically with original form of payment.


While you have the bike:


  1. You are entitled to free tune-ups. You may visit any of our five Bay Area stores to take advantage of this service.
  2. Services beyond tuning will be charged. This mostly includes replacement parts and removing components for more in depth servicing. You will receive 15% off MSRP for parts, and 20% off standard labor rates.


When you return the bike to our Palo Alto store:


  1. Please take your bike to our service counter, a service technician will assess the condition of the bike.
  2. You will be entitled to a $250 security deposit refund If the bicycle has no / minor cosmetic blemishes, only requires minor service and no replacement parts.
  3. If the condition of the bike has major cosmetic blemishes like scuffs, dings, dents and requires replacement parts, the charges will range from $30-$250 and come out of the day 1 security deposit.
  4. Once our technician signs off on your return and you are receiving a partial or full refund, please allow 1-5 business days for processing. You will receive an emailed copy of your final receipt which will show all related credits / debits.


Once you have completed the checkout process, please allow 5-10 business days to receive notification from our Palo Alto store for bike pick up.
